The Magic Guild leader known as the Decadent Caketress came from some very humble beginnings. To many people outside of the guilds, she is a stitcher who worked her way deep into the innerworkings of the Warlocks. Amongst the many nobility milling about, she stands out with her long flowing purple hair, bright, unnatural green eyes and the little wings and the hand fan as her mainstay.

To begin with, there was a woman who was so motivated in her practice of the needlearts and the artistry of magical cooking, named Cake. She loved to bake, loved to stitch, her craft seemed to swell and get only better and better as time went on. She decided to move to Stitchwind, taking with her the principles and magic she gained. It was also to swiftly and happily move away from a bad magical dispute within her family. The woman doesn't speak on it a lot, unless in good company. Still, however, she simply existed and lingered around, milling about and working on her own ideas, before she was approached by a wizard named Sirithre, and the two began a fastidious and rewarding friendship. As Stitchwind grew, the two decided to open a guild for all who worked with the Magic that flowed throughout the land.

The Caketress' magic created the Cake Golems, tiny helpers made of magic, sugar, and ancient powers. They wander around the large bakery that she owns and sells her magical pastries to passerbys. Occasionally, she'll be found in a window seat, drinking coffee and observing the city as time flows around her. Still, she seems always to hold a pen and paper, writing about something.

As a warlock, she follows a tempting patron, who lead her down this path of magic and sweets. She doesn't often talk about it, and likes to avoid speaking too much on the subject. Her weapon in battle is a massive rolling pin, which transforms into a large handfan that she uses to smack down on heads when the multiple guild members (Magic, Agility or Melee) misbehave. The fan and rolling pin both seem to glow with a purple, mysterious magic, and even her eyes will glow in the dark. Still, despite her mischievious nature and using fairy dust in sweets for tricks, she is a kind and loving guild leader, who puts her guild and guild members first when decisions are being made.

Many state at times she seems to be hesitant to touch water, but for all purposes, maybe that's just to keep herself from getting soaked when it rains? There's a lot of mysterious circumstances around her, but she's very open about her past besides her patron.

Artist Studies: Durene JonesDecadent Caketress Studies DureneJones.jpgThe backstitching allows for emphasis on what is what, and I absolutely am not the best at it, but it is useful to make sure there are different, separate sections. It really makes it pop!! Her use of pushing the back stitch in the midst of a full cross really is tricky but the effect certainly is worth it. Aida cloth, 14 ct. Stitch SpotDecadent Caketress StitchSpot.jpgA bit blurry but this is a comfy haven and where I love working on my projects at.
Topsy TurvyDecadent Caketress TopsyTurvy.jpgIt took so so long, I had different design ideas, however, these eggs were super fun to make. I usually go / to , I went \ to /. Aaand I disliked it, lol. Pattern inspiration
Stash SystemDiscovered organization inspiration:Filing system for thread I've admired this system for a LONG time, and the way it looks. The way it still labels the threads, and keeps it from being confused, especially because you can just quick grab and go. I love the idea of pushing a row aside just to be able to see where colors are.
Revisit a UFODecadent Caketress RevisitUFO.jpgI dropped this in april due to missing colors and having to frog, in the upper portion, and bottom portion I figured it out AND Godzilla got some sweet nail polish this month. Pattern
Take InventoryTook inventory of their stash:Thread Inventory Google Doc Honestly this is a WIP, but I'm looking at my inventory and seeing in this document what I have and don't have, and all my unfortunate doubles. Thankfully, this will help me in figuring out if I need it. But so far from when I can get my mits on, this is what I have.
Unconventional CanvasDecadent Caketress UnconventionalCanvas.jpgThis is a paper box stitched with a name that means a lot to me atm. It will be given away to that person. Used a kit's colors for all of the things except for an unknown dmc I found from my arc of removing stuff from plastic canvases. Pattern
Scissor SoireeDecadent Caketress ScissorSoiree.jpgTwo of my scissors easily on hand and for a project atm. They're super useful!
Prepare to DyeDecadent Caketress Prepare to Dye.jpgI wanted to make a darker, greyer purple so i combined purple and black rit dye. I dyed for 30 minutes and then washed out the excess. This is super beautiful, so I'm hoping to serger or somehow whip stitch the edges and use it for an upcoming project.
International StyleTraveled the world and discovered:Merve Çelik Bul I found a Turkish stitcher/designer, and found their instagram account. Their designs are so elegant, and the flower focus is honestly gorgeous. They have other designs, but their shading, and form is so nice.
Blackwork ResearchResearched Blackwork and discovered:Baby Lima Bean Blackwork I'm so new to blackwork. But I love The Child and I love the effects of blackwork making a simply, elegant statement and would be a nice geeky nod in your office or on your walls. I look forward to making this one, as it is simply way too cute.
Bewitching BlackworkDecadent Caketress BewitchingBlackwork.jpgI am going to try and finish Mew, it's been a very long month at work. But this pattern has taught me hardanger may be a better future investment, for a 1 over 1 pattern. There are a few mistakes here and there but honestly I love it. Colors: DMC 310 and Dinky Dyes 291, Black Opal Pattern
Petite PatternsFound a small pattern to stitch:Mokona! He is small, and quick, and I get a nice cute little mokona at the end of it. It'll challenge me in my quickness to doing a pattern too.
