Revisit a UFO | ![]() | I started this project in March and when I put it away while we were in the process of moving in April there wasn’t much done other than a few blocks of colors here and there. So happy with the progress I made this month. Pattern |
Take Inventory | Took inventory of their stash: | Thread Spreadsheet |
Unconventional Canvas | ![]() | When I saw this beautiful leaf print inside the shipping box for my Tarte order, I knew it would be perfect for this month’s quest. Some of the hole punching is a little wonky but I still love it |
Scissor Soiree | ![]() | From the left: stitching scissors, crappy kitchen scissors (mostly used for opening packaging), nice kitchen scissors, bonsai/plant trimmers, and the scissors that live on my desk (mostly for cutting printed coupons) |
Prepare to Dye | ![]() | I started with some white 14 count aida and some Tazo passion tea and ended with this pale shade of pink. It doesn’t show up well on camera but I’m satisfied with my first attempt at dyeing. |
Artist Studies: Ink Circles | ![]() | Ink Circles - Namaste This month I started working on Namaste by Ink Circles. I find the symmetrical patterns relaxing to stitch. |
Blackwork Research | Researched Blackwork and discovered: | Sea Turtle BlackworkI really enjoyed researching Blackwork for this quest. I love the fact that you can create something very beautiful using limited materials and colors. There were so many patterns and samplers that I would love to try. I stumbled across Peppermint Purple on Instagram. I really like all the colorful designs. I've decided on the Sea Turtle as my next project, maybe in a beautiful blue or aqua. |
Bewitching Blackwork | ![]() | This month I started working on Peppermint Purple’s Blackwork Sea Turtle. I wanted a little color so I used DMC 4030. I’m loving stitching the intricate designs into a bigger picture and can’t wait to see it finished. |
Petite Patterns | Found a small pattern to stitch: | I found a couple cute patterns from a shop on Etsy, including some Pusheen ones. 1,2 |
Speedy Stitching | ![]() | I stitched the cauldron from Stitchonomy’s 2020 Halloween SAL while watching a baseball game. It took me about an hour for 136 stitches so about 2.26 stitches per minute while cheering and stopping for home runs. |
Specialty Study | Found a tutorial: | I found a simple tutorial for the Satin Stitch on YouTube by Cutesy Crafts. They actually have a whole series on specialty stitches on their channel. |
Specialty Practice | ![]() | I chose the Enchanted Green Garden from Kreinik.com because it had so many specialty stitches. My French knots could use a little work |
