About

Name: Asteria
Race: Tiefling
Born: Lakeside Forest
Mother: Lawful Neutral Devil Sorcerer that works as an Entertainer. Relationship is friendly. She is alive and well.
Father: Was raised by her mother. Her father disappeared to unknown fate.

Because of her father's disappearance, Asteria is a former pupil of her sorcerer grandmother, the likes of which was attempting to create rather chaotic experimental magic. Weaving a manipulating stands of colors into talismans, her grandmother perished from her own magic gone wrong. Being born with these powers, Asteria finds them difficult to control at first, yet with time, practice, and maybe some help from others she will learn to manage them.

She's thoughtful, determined, jovial and perhaps a little too uncontrolled. But this is all just a façade, a mechanism to deal with her position.

Born into a rather mundane family, most onlookers would assume she has no innate magical potential. Her 2 sisters set out on their own directions not seeking to continue practicing their own magic. Asteria lived comfortably until she was about 18 years old, but at that point things changed. She started to experience the world and was becoming more cultured.

Following the very stars that called to her, she continued to travel and gain knowledge. Through plenty of trial and error, she is unstoppable in a fantastic world. But with her skills and diligence, there's nothing to stop her from climbing to the top, and taking those she meets along the way with her. She could quickly become a true friend for life.

But for now that's speculation; she is currently travelling the world. She feels like there's more to discover in this world. Luckily she has great people around to support her!

Artist Studies: Durene JonesTrixieFox Studies DureneJones.jpgMaybe my chaos isnt so evil, I left the pattern as is and didnt sneak half stitches in. After all this was a study of someone else's style, not for me to invoke my style onto their pattern....

That being said, this backstitch style is a bit carefree and I can honestly say I enjoy it! Not all the lines connect, not all the colors are boxed in by bold backstitch, but it's more sketched and the slight "bleed" of color over the line gives it a by hand feel.

I also noticed only 1 color for the backstitch, where I would have thought a dark green for the grassy area and even a more royal/dark purple for the egg, but again this turned out rather nice!
Stitch SpotTrixieFox StitchSpot.jpgMy zen space, cozy, tucked in a corner. Winters this is where you can find me, there's an option for natural light or synthetic. In summer I have pulled this papasan to the deck in the backyard, where I can watch single engine planes take off from the small local airport.
Topsy TurvyTrixieFox TopsyTurvy.jpgI usually stitch \ this first but this project I started / that way on the X. It was time consuming more than anything trying to rewire my muscle memory. It's amazing how awkward it felt as well. Habits are hard to break! Stitched 2 over 1 on 18ct ; Pattern (modified)
Stash SystemDiscovered organization inspiration:DIY Embroidery Floss Organizer using Clothespins Currently I have half skeins, half bobbinated. I came across this cool idea for storage and I like this would make a nice brainstorming board for creating color palettes for patterns as well
